Case summary

The challenge

Strengthening the security culture within an organization that serves vulnerable populations and handles sensitive information. We needed to refresh existing knowledge about various forms of cybercrime while making the learning experience engaging and memorable. The challenge was creating awareness that would stick, helping our team understand not just what cyber threats exist but how easily they can be executed and how quickly user mistakes happen in practice. We wanted something that would unite our team around cybersecurity rather than making it feel like individual responsibility or a compliance burden.

The experience

The team approached the game with enthusiasm and genuine engagement from the start. What stood out immediately was how the competitive element elevated the entire experience, making it more enjoyable while simultaneously making the learning more effective. Colleagues challenged each other, shared strategies, and stayed invested throughout the gameplay.

The game sparked numerous valuable conversations afterwards about cybersecurity, with team members discussing scenarios, sharing revelations about vulnerabilities, and reflecting on their own digital habits. The key insight that emerged was understanding how relatively simple it is to execute hacks and how quickly users make mistakes that can compromise security. This realization hit home because participants experienced it firsthand rather than just hearing about it theoretically. The shared experience also strengthened team connections, creating bonds through collaborative problem solving and friendly competition.

The outcome

The game successfully refreshed knowledge about diverse forms of cybercrime across the entire team while creating lasting behavioral change. Employees are now much more aware of cybersecurity risks and have become active participants in organizational security, proactively reporting suspicious activities. The practical awareness and team strengthening aspects combined perfectly, transforming cybersecurity from an abstract concern into something tangible that the team protects together. The experience delivered exactly what we needed: engaged learning that strengthened both our security culture and our team spirit.
