Case summary

The challenge

Making cybersecurity truly stick, especially in an international organization with young, dynamic teams working across different locations. Many of our colleagues are actively online daily and operate from various sites, which makes it crucial that they recognize how hackers work and how to prevent attacks. The challenge was presenting this in an engaging way that would cut through busy schedules and competing priorities, while ensuring the message would resonate with people who might not naturally prioritize security awareness.

The experience

We had just arrived at SnowWorld after a social evening, so I was curious how sharp everyone would be. But as soon as the game started, it was immediately game on. The focus was impressive and everyone was completely immersed in the experience from the first moment.

The competitive elements created an intensely motivated atmosphere. Live leaderboards constantly displayed rankings, driving people to perform their best and strategize more carefully. The content felt realistic and directly relevant to our daily work. You genuinely want to know what the next step is and how you’re going to solve it. The scenarios resonated because they reflected actual threats our team could encounter, making the learning personal rather than abstract.

The outcome

The game had immediate, tangible impact. Awareness of how hackers operate increased significantly across the team. People realized that attacks aren’t only technical but can also occur through colleagues and social engineering, an insight that genuinely shifted perspectives. We’ve become much more conscious of our own digital habits, with concrete changes like strengthening our passwords. Phantom’s Game made cybersecurity not just visible but actionable and relevant to everyone’s daily work.
