Waarom: We wilden bewustzijn over cyberdreigingen verhogen via training die zowel leuk als leerzaam was. Als zorgorganisatie die gevoelige pathologiedata verwerkt, moesten we ervoor zorgen dat ons team digitale risico’s zou begrijpen op een praktische, boeiende manier die zou aanslaan en blijvende gedragsverandering zou creëren.

Case samenvatting

De uitdaging

Cybersecurity awareness creëren in een zorgorganisatie waar medewerkers dagelijks met gevoelige pathologie-informatie omgaan. We hadden een aanpak nodig die zowel educatief als boeiend zou zijn en digitale dreigingen tastbaar zou maken voor personeel met verschillende technische achtergronden. De uitdaging was een training vinden die relevant en toegankelijk zou aanvoelen in plaats van overweldigend en tegelijk zorgen dat het geleerde zou leiden tot gedragsverandering die patiëntdata en organisatiesystemen beschermt tegen cyberdreigingen.

De ervaring

Medewerkers vonden de game leuk en leerzaam en benaderden het met enthousiasme en echte betrokkenheid zodra ze begonnen waren. Het competitieve element bleek bijzonder effectief en maakte de ervaring leuker, terwijl het deelnemers motiveerde om gefocust te blijven. Wat opviel was hoe de game tal van waardevolle gesprekken achteraf over cybersecurity op gang bracht. Collega’s bespraken scenario’s en deelden inzichten over kwetsbaarheden waar ze eerder niet aan gedacht hadden.

We liepen echter wel tegen wat uitdagingen aan met de initiële setup. Het opstartproces was verwarrend voor sommige deelnemers en de introductie had duidelijker gekund om iedereen soepel te laten beginnen. Sommige medewerkers vonden de game ook te lang duren voor hun comfortniveau. Als organisator realiseerde ik me achteraf dat een betere introductie had geholpen, misschien een introductievideo een week van tevoren met uitleg over wat ze konden verwachten en hoe de game zou verlopen. Ondanks deze initiële hobbels bleek de leerervaring waardevol zodra deelnemers betrokken waren.

Het resultaat

De game leverde succesvol verhoogd bewustzijn van digitale risico’s en cyberdreigingen door onze hele organisatie. Medewerkers begrijpen nu hoe gemakkelijk persoonlijke informatie misbruikt kan worden, wat zorgde voor verhoogde waakzaamheid in het dagelijkse werk. Naast individueel leren transformeerde de ervaring deelnemers in actieve kennisdelers die nu open over cybersecurity praten binnen de organisatie. De gesprekken na de game breidden de leerimpact ver voorbij de gameplay zelf uit en creëerden een doorlopende dialoog over digitale veiligheid die onze security cultuur blijft versterken.
